Turbans & Trousers (ft. Voodoo Vixen)

Aloha, honeys! I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the sunshine (if you're getting any!)! Today's post is about stepping out of my comfort zone... I have mentioned in previous posts that I feel my legs are my best feature so naturally the thought of wearing anything baggy that covers them sends shudders down my spine! I have always opted for a tight fitted leg as I just feel that's what suited my figure best however I do love the look of palazzo extreme-wide-leg trousers. I just feel they give off SUCH chic vibes and are just the epitome of class. I decided to break free from my usual-skinny-leg-chains and tried something that I usually run away from when I fell in love with the Nicola trousers from Voodoo Vixen (Use code ATOMIC20 for 20% off!). I loved how floaty they looked and the print was the perfect balance to make them look a little more interesting.

When they arrived I was NOT disappointed - they are even better in real life. As a mumma to a 7 month old, comfort is key and the Nicola trousers have an ELASTICATED WAIST. My prayers have been answered! A stretchy waist that is less OAP and more sassy s-ass-ee (I was tryna rhyme, cut me some slack :'D). They are really flattering because of the waist feature too as they nip you in the perfect amount and the flowing material on the leg hangs beautifully.

Maternity Lookbook for Voodoo Vixen - 'Tiger Lilly' Dress

Aloha, lovelies! I have part two of my Maternity Lookbook for Voodoo Vixen and today's dress is the Tiger Lilly dress. If you'd like to check out part one of the lookbook featuring the Paula dress then click here! As I mentioned in my previous post, the dresses that I will be featuring are not actually specifically made for maternity but they have been tried and tested by yours truly (at 8 months pregnant!) to let you know my opinions on the fit and sizing of the dresses particularly if you're sporting a beautiful baby bump!

In case you haven't read part one of the series, I will repeat the information about myself and my size for reference so if you've already read it in the first post then you can skip this next paragraph! :-)

Maternity Lookbook for Voodoo Vixen - 'Paula' Dress

Aloha, sugar plums! Myself and Voodoo Vixen have teamed up to bring you our Maternity Lookbook. The dresses featured aren't actually made for maternity, but they have been tried & tested (by myself!) to show you that you definitely can rock them with an ever-growing belly! You don't need to loose your sass just because you're pregnant so I'm here to show you which dresses really work well and are comfortable when you are expecting. I will also be covering size and fit as I know a lot of mums-to-be often ask me whether they should size up for certain styles.

The London Edge Sponsored By Voodoo Vixen

A couple of month's ago I was lucky enough to be selected as one of the bloggers to represent Voodoo Vixen at The London Edge. I was delighted when I received the email as I'd never done anything like that before (and let's be honest... Who isn't delighted over the promise of a free new dress!?). My three good friends from The British Belles also got selected which made me even happier! We were each allowed to pick a dress from a selection they had emailed us. I chose the 'Kitty' dress as I was just in love with the atomic style cats on it.
The London Edge is a trade show for alternative brands. They showcase their new lines which in this case was their SS15 ranges. They had everything from clothing to make up. It was great to have a sneak peek at my favourite brands new upcoming styles and prints. My favourite brands to see were obviously Voodoo Vixen, Banned Clothing, Le Keux Cosmetics, Vanity Project, Besame Cosmetics, Daisy Dapper and Collectif.
After the Edge, we were also invited to go to the after party (via a vintage bus!) that was sponsored by Voodoo Vixen where we had boogy and free drinks all night!

OOTD: Space Vixen ft. VoodooVixen

Aloha, Space Cadets! Today's outfit is all focused around my amazing new skirt by Voodoo Vixen. It is called the 'Cora' skirt and features retro space babes all over it. With my blog name being Atomic Amber, you know it was love at first sight when I saw this amazing print at The London Edge for the first time. I think it was fate that I received this gorgeous nylon hair scarf from Dolly Cool Jewels the next day which matches *perfectly* with the skirt. Ideally I would have paired them with a yellow t-shirt, but I am yet to own one so as soon as I go shopping I will snap one up immediately so I can complete this outfit! I opted not to add a petticoat to this skirt as I feel it is a little short and I didn't want the petticoat to be poking out too much at the end. Voodoo Vixen have a new range of petticoats for SS15 and I was lucky enough to be sent one of those too with the skirt. They are incredibly comfortable and have that frothy feel to them, but I'll have a whole other post about that soon ;-).
