Pin Up Style On A Budget: Primark SS14 Edition

I feel like I haven't done one of these for ages! Anyway, I love seeing what high-street stores have to offer in terms of vintage/pin up inspired clothing and I feel like you can really find some gems if you keep you're eyes peeled. One shop I think really pulls it out of the bag every year is Primark - there is always a few pieces that I think could pass as being from a vintage reproduction shop such as Tara Starlet (which is beautiful, but not purse friendly!). Here are my top picks from their SS14 collection. I was completely blown away when I saw what they had to offer this year. Now... Elbows at the ready - who's ready for to battle your way through your local Primarni!? These gem's are sure worth it!

£12
I love the nautical feel of this little midi skirt.

£17
It's refreshing to see this length dress on the high street. I think this would look so cute with some little white shoes. Maybe even some pearls!

£20
This is one of my favourites from the collection. To be honest, anything gingham makes my heart flutter. But for it to be a knee length dress that is perfectly shaped from Primark - Well that's just the jackpot isn't it. Will definitely be strolling along in this number along the seafront.

 £20
I know it's quite hard to actually work out what this dress looks like, but as far as I can work out it is a polka dot sheer shirt style dress with a nice big collar. Looks good to me. A more subtle take on this style.

£17
This is described as a crochet insert midi shirt dress. There we go. A lovely little white dress for those summer days.

£10
Now, I know I'm not the only one who is obsessed with these cute-as-hell (if hell was a rainbow fluffy cloud moutain - obviously!) fluffy cropped sweaters. I have one in pink I recently got in the sale for a £5, but I really would love all four - this baby yellow, baby blue and white as well! They can take you from cold weather to Spring. I pair my pink one with all sorts! Jeans, pencil skirts, gingham capris, short. So versatile.

£12
I believe every vintage gal needs a pair of plain mary janes. Me including - so I was delighted to see Primark offering up these beauties this Spring. They come in a creamy pink colour and a dark oxblood red as well. Staple.

 £10
Admittedly, I've never tried wearing culottes before, but this year might be the one I give it a go. This baby blue pair are absolutely darling. Imagine - the appearance of a lovely skirt and not having to worry about them blowing up and flashing the whole of Blighty! Which is essential when you live by the seaside as there is always a breeze around the corner!

£10
We all are lusting for a lucite box bag, but until we can afford to splurge on a real one - I think it little perspex box purse will fill the lucite shaped hole.

£14
I'm not a big heel wearer (apart from my ever-faithful jelly shoes) but I thought these little T-bars are the perfect casual summer heel.

£12
This is the first thing that encouraged me to have a gander at the Primark SS14 collection. This is definitely on my shopping list. A gingham skirt. What more can I say. Picnic, anyone?

£9
A nice casual polka denim pencil skirt. A good staple piece that can be dressed up or dressed down.

£8
I don't know if anyone else with look at this bag and think it looks kinda vintage inspired - but I just love structured box bags. I think they're so ladylike. Regardless if it's 'vintage' looking or not - I still love it.

These two last pictures I found on http://ejstylefashionblog.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/primark-ss14-press-day.html so I hope she doesn't mind me using them but finding pictures of Primark clothes proves quite difficult online. I am just completely in love with a) these polka dot pointed heels and b) this baby blue wicker style bag. I am besotted. Check out her blogpost if you want some more lovely pictures from the Press Day at Primark.

Wow - now I hope I'm not the only one that wants to do a massive Primark raid! Now we just need the warm weather to go with all of these gorgeous pastels!
I hope you enjoyed reading.
Will hopefully be doing more of my top picks from some more high street store's SS14 collections.

With love,
